POSITION SUMMARY:

Epic Wines & Spirits is currently seeking a full-time Sales Representative to join our Central Valley team. This position oversees the territory of Sacramento and Davis, CA. We are looking for competitive, confident, self-motivated candidates that are willing to use a consultant sales approach to sell our excellent growing portfolio.

The Sales Representative maximizes the sale of our represented brands to accounts through effective account management, selling execution, and communication resulting in the achievement of company and supplier objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monthly achievement of company defined dollar volume sales goals
  • Monthly achievement of company defined “Focus” brand/sku sales goals
  • Consistent growth of distribution within assigned accounts as well as through new account activation within assigned geographical region

Selling /Account Management – General Market are expected to achieve company and supplier sales growth and revenue growth by:

  • Selling concepts and consulting with the customer on strategies that will collectively enhance both business models
  • Building relationships and an effective partnership with the ultimate decision maker in assigned accounts
  • Utilizing pricing and promotion strategies, marketing opportunities, servicing, merchandising and brand category management skills
  • Executing distribution and volume through various qualitative drivers-distribution, drink /wine lists, wells/WTC, promotion, banquets, special events, and other opportunities
  • Conduct staff training and education in all assigned accounts
  • Identify opportunities , develop and implement ‘Account Action Plans’
  • Develop monthly, weekly and daily written plans for execution
  • Create customer business building concepts to increase company share and volume
  • Work collaboratively with supplier personnel to develop product knowledge, assist with presentations and activate account action plans

Communication- General Market are expected to serve as information resources for, and conduits between, the field and the company’s management by:

  • Communicating issues, opportunities and market intelligence through effective written, electronic and verbal means
  • Communicate and work with key suppliers (to achieve objectives)
  • Communicate and inform Manager of key sales and account updates
  • Competitive updates
  • Responding to emails and phone calls, from management, operations, and suppliers in and expedient fashion

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & OTHER ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of processes, tools, techniques and theory behind selling the organization’s products or services
  • Knowledge of specific customer’s business operations and ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling the organization products and services to each
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize customer profile and information
  • Knowledge of specific products and associated development process and strategy
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and objection handling skills
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter, ambitious personality, accountable and action oriented
  • Ability to work with management, colleagues, and customer throughout the business and industry at every level

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two (2) years of sales experience in the wine industry is required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have a proven track record of successful selling
  • Must possess valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and clean DMV record
  • Must be willing to reside within territory.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to repetitively lift a minimum of 50 lbs.; be able to bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and lift repetitively; possess excellent verbal communication, written communication, and listening skills; have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player who can work well with minimal supervision; and demonstrate the ability to multi-task and respond quickly to demanding situations.
