3 Ball

3 Ball

You know Christian Tietje – he’s the surfer, punk rocker, metal artist winemaker who started Four Vines wines in a Berkeley backyard. And then he grew Four Vines’ head-spinning Zinfandel and racy, unoaked “Naked” Chardonnay into national sensations. – and cashed out.

After over 20 years of making some of the state’s best Zinfandels, growers know him as the “Zinbitch” because of his commitment to only source from the best, head pruned Zinfandel vineyards and his credo that low yields produce the most remarkable wines.

Through the Cypher and 3-Ball labels, he’s growing his reputation. At Cypher, he makes big, badass Rhone wines and Zinfandel with names like Anarchy, Peasant, and Heretic and outrageous art labels. His 3-Ball Zinfandel blends California’s top three Zin appellations  – Sonoma, Paso, and Amador – into one bottle.

Owned by cousins Hein and Adi Badenhorst restored the cellar on the farm that was last used in the 1930’s to make natural wines in the traditional manner. The vineyards are made up of very old bush-vines planted with Chenin Blanc (average 40 year old vines), Cinsault (average 45 years), and Grenache (average 58 years). The vines are un-irrigated and farmed as biologically as possible. The vineyards are planted on East, North and South facing slopes bringing tremendous variety to the fruit.

Abacela

Abacela

The story of Abacela Winery began in the 1990s with production of America’s first world class tempranillo. Their distinctive Southern Oregon site-climate, which is intermediate to Napa and the Willamette Valley, has also proven ideal for Albariño, Grenache and Malbec.

The old world character and new world verve of these wines has inspired new plantings and production of these varieties not only across the Pacific Northwest but throughout America.

Their trailblazing has led to Abacela’s recognition as the Oregon Winery of the Year in 2013 and the awarding in 2015 by Oregon Wine Industry, of its highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award to Earl and Hilda Jones.

Alheit Vineyards

Alheit Vineyards

“We aim to vinify extraordinary Cape vineyards. In doing so, we hope to find the voice of the land itself. Whether that voice be a choir of amazing blocks blended into one bottle, or the purity and beauty of a single vineyard soloist. We strongly believe that fine wine is grown, rather than made. In our cellar, a vineyard is allowed to become a wine without interference.”

Alphonse Mellot

Alphonse Mellot

The 'terroirs' of Domaine la Moussière are a true gift of past generations. Located at the very heart of the appellation on Kimmeridgian soil, this magnificent limestone gives way to the marls of Saint Doulchard and the chalky soil of Buzançais. When cenomanian they are flinty-clay and when oxfordian they are layered chalk. It would indeed be a shame for these differences not be expressed. The bed must be delicately plowed over in order to allow the invisible forms of life that are now oxygenated, to develop right down to the rock, and thus to be able to accommodate and nourish the roots of the vine. This marvelous alchemy now makes it possible for the minerals liberated from the soil to be soaked up by the fruit which can then best be expressed by that much used word 'Terroir'. This is the only way in which each wine will develop different mineral characteristics, thus constituting a "memory catalog" of the soil and climatic conditions. This makes tasting so much more enriching and the wines itself become real works of art.

Alta

Alta

We are a small family owned and operated vineyard and winery.  When founder Fred Oliai first laid eyes on the 90+ acre ALTA Vineyard in 2008, he instantly recognized the magic and the amazing potential of the site.

We maintain a deep respect for the land at ALTA Vineyard, tilling the soil as little as possible and restricting the use of chemicals and fertilizers. Intense hand farming, gentle fermentation and old world cellar practices all combine to yield exceptional results. Alta barreled its first harvest of Cabernet Sauvignon in 2009 and sold a very limited amount of its debut wine when it was released in the fall of 2011.

Since then, we have tirelessly looked for vineyard locations that best suit the varietal.  All of our wines are sourced from single vineyards.  Our Sauvignon Blanc grapes are sourced from the Heitz Vineyard in the eastern hills of the Napa Valley. The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from the Ballentine Vineyard in St. Helena.  The latest addition to the Alta portfolio is our Pinot Noir offering.  The grapes for this wine are sourced from a truly exceptional property in the southwestern part of the Russian River Valley.  Roughly four miles east of the famed Martinelli Winery off of Occidental Road in Santa Rosa is Jim and Cindy Moore's boutique Pinot Noir Vineyard.

André Delorme

André Delorme

The André Delorme brand's history began during the 2nd World War. Having been injured in combat, André Delorme left the front and returned to Rully in Burgundy. Upon his return in 1942, André Delorme founded his own company. His still and sparkling wines rapidly established their reputation and were selected by the finest restaurants. His son was later to join him and went on to the take over the company a few years later. New vines were planted and the domaine grew to cover a wide range of appellations, amongst the most reputed in the Côte Chalonnaise. Over the years, the reputation of the domaine's wines has gone beyond French borders.

Anko

Anko

Anko means “high water” in the native Indian language of Salta, located in the northwest corner of Argentina. Wine Enthusiast quoted Anko winemaker Jeff Mausbach as follows: "Salta is a land of extremes—extreme beauty, extreme altitude, extreme sunlight. These extremes make for a singular expression of Malbec—powerful, structured wines with a savory minerality that is very different from other regions in Argentina." In this rugged, mountainous desert, an “Anko,” or high-altitude oasis, was treasured as a precious sanctuary, protection from the harsh elements of nature. Our estate vineyards in Estancia Los Cardones, named for the area's majestic cacti which can grow as tall as 30 feet, are indeed an oasis amid the surrounding jagged landscape.

Antucura

Antucura

Antucura Winery is the “little jewel” of the Uco Valley, located at the foot of the Andes Mountains in the town of Vista Flores. Thanks to the unique characteristics of soil and temperature, this region has been established as the "new region for production of fine grapes". Thanks to stony soils and wide temperature range between day and night, Antucura’s grapes develop intense varietal characteristics which support the elegance of its wines.

Antucura offers a wide range of varieties to produce their blends, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir. We use a selection of only the best grapes of our 100 hectares planted. Antucura became known for its blends of Grand Vin, Calcura and La Folie which emulate the wines of Pomerol in a warmer climate and have recently added varietals: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Antucura Chérie sparkling rosé 100% Pinot Noir. Each label displays our “sun stone” the icon which makes our vineyards unique. Our work is based on constant care and control.

Armida Winery

Armida Winery

Artisan winemaking at its finest. Since 1994, owners, operators, brothers and partners, Steve and Bruce Cousins have transformed Armida Winery and the Poizin brand from a quiet producer of good wines into a much livelier place focusing on artisan, single vineyard wines from the very best growers in Sonoma County. While they make a seriously great wine, the focus at Armida is FUN! Which is one of the reasons they produce Poizin, “The Wine to Die For.” In addition to several handcrafted wines sold nearly exclusively at the winery, Poizin Dry Creek Valley was introduced in 1998. In 2012, Poizin California was released.

Banshee

Banshee

Banshee was founded in 2009 at a bar in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco by three young wine industry veterans who pooled their money to start producing cool climate Pinot Noir in the Sonoma Coast. The initial intent was to make wines that tasted like the best California had to offer, but were priced so that everyone could enjoy them. Venturing west to Healdsburg a few years later, they developed strong relationships with the owners and growers of some of the best and most coveted vineyards in Sonoma. Working closely with the vineyard teams, Banshee produces wines of depth, purity and balance. Today, the Banshee mission remains the same as it was in the early days – to craft distinctive wines that over-deliver in every possible way

Barboursville

Barboursville

Barboursville Vineyards is Virginia’s first wine estate to be dedicated to growing European, vitis vinifera wine varietals in Virginia. Planted in 1976, the vineyard was founded and continues to be owned by Gianni Zonin from Gambellara, Italy, who is a 7th-generation winegrower whose family’s enterprise, Casa Vinicola Zonin, has been in viticulture since 1821. Barboursville is Zonin’s sole winemaking endeavor outside of Italy. The property is the core of an extensive 18th Century Virginia plantation, now consisting of some 900 acres, of which 162 are in vine. Winemaker-General Manager Luca Paschina, holder of a degree in oenology from Instituto Umberto in Alba and now in his 21st year at Barboursville, oversees day-to-day vineyard operations with viticulturist Fernando Franco, who has been at Barboursville for 13 years.

Barenjager

Barenjager

So sweet even the hunters couldn’t resist. Dating back to 18th Century Germany, this honey liqueur recipe was originally concocted to lure bears out of their dwellings by hunters & fur trappers. Originally called Ba¨renfang (‘Bear Trap’), this drinkable honey was not only enticing to the bear but soon became the beverage of choice to the bear hunter as well. This highly alluring concoction has since been refined to be the premium liqueur that exists today. The honey liqueur is also blended to create Barenjager Honey & Bourbon where American heritage meets 18th century Germany. Produced in Germany by Schwarze & Schlichte with over 350 years of distilling tradition, this naturally smooth and all-natural bourbon stands out from its competitors. A balanced oaky taste with distinct lingering honey notes, make Barenjager Honey Bourbon ideal for sipping straight or over ice.
